Damping buffer manufacturers believe that the buffer stroke generally refers to the buffer deformation capacity allowed by the buffer under the impact of a larger truck within the distance between the front and rear driven plates of a standard truck. At this time, the driven plate comes into contact with the buffer box, and the buffer deformation before the rigid impact does not occur, which is also called the working stroke. Free stroke refers to the larger buffer deformation allowed by the buffer structure in the free state, which is generally larger than the working stroke of the buffer to compensate for the performance of the buffer due to wear and prevent the buffer and the driven plate and the front and rear driven plate seats The gap between them reduces the buffering function. The travel of the bumper is limited by the clearance between the connector shoulders (the distance from the connector shoulders to the impact seat). An important principle of buffer loading is that the gap between the coupler and the shoulder of the truck should be greater than the stroke of the buffer. In this way, it can be ensured that the longitudinal impact force of the truck is completely transmitted from the coupler to the chassis traction beam through the buffer. When the coupler is subjected to excessive impact force, the shoulder of the coupler contacts the impact seat, which can directly transmit part of the impact force to the landing gear to prevent the rear plate seat and buffer from being overloaded and damaged. The
damping buffer manufacturer believes that the external force corresponding to the deformation of the buffer should be compatible with the allowable longitudinal force that the truck structure can withstand. The "Vehicle Strength Design Code" stipulates that the allowable longitudinal force of the truck structure should not exceed 2.25MN, and the resistance of the buffer should not be greater than this value, so that the buffer can protect the truck and load the goods.
Damping buffer manufacturers believe that during the full compression of the buffer, the sum of the work done by the resistance to its stroke is called capacity. Capacity is a very important technical indicator to measure buffer performance. The choice of transport capacity is closely related to the impact speed of train formation and shunting, the total weight of freight cars and the traction weight of trains, and is also restricted by its own structure and working principle.
Damping buffer manufacturers believe that in the process of full compression of the buffer, a part of the energy is consumed by damping, and the ratio of the consumed energy to the buffer capacity is called the energy absorption rate. The greater the absorption rate, the greater the ability of the buffer to absorb impact energy and the smaller the recoil effect. Otherwise, the buffer will have to reciprocate many times, consuming impact energy, causing premature fatigue damage to the coupler and underframe, and aggravating the longitudinal impulse of the train. The general energy absorption rate is not less than 80%.
