Product Description

This smart toilet seat damper is a one-way positioning rotary damper, available in two models: LF-36E-DW1 and LF-36E-DW2. It is currently used in high-end toilets, with LF-36E-DW2 applied to the toilet seat ring. This product has a special positioning function that activates when the seat ring is flipped up to 90 degrees, solving the current issue of smart toilet lids not being able to stay in place autonomously. Installing the damper benefits prolonging the product's lifespan while enhancing user experience.

(Note: 1) The marked torque is measured under standard load conditions at a temperature of 23°C and humidity of 80%, with a slow drop of 15° per second.
(2) Torque customization can be provided by changing the viscosity of the damper grease.
(3) The maximum operating temperature range for this type of damper is -40°C to +90°C.
(4) The reverse torque for this type of damper is generally about one-twentieth of the forward torque.

Damper product materials

Shell material Rotary shaft material (Sealing ring) (Damping oil)
   (PBT)      (PBT) (Silicone) (Silicone oil)

(Note: This type of damper has two materials for the rotary shaft: PA and zinc alloy. It is generally recommended to use zinc alloy material for shafts with torque exceeding30kgf.cm.)

Damper characteristics
A. Temperature characteristics:
The torque generated by the damper will change under the influence of environmental temperature. This is because changes in temperature affect the viscosity of damping oil, causing torque output to decrease as temperature increases and increase as temperature decreases. When the temperature returns to normal, torque also returns to its original value.

B. Speed characteristics:
The torque of the damper will also change when using different rotational speeds. Generally, as rotational speed increases, torque also increases; as rotational speed decreases, torque decreases accordingly. Additionally, starting torque differs from standard torque.

Usage method for pressure-type dampers:
A. This series of rotary dampers starts falling from a vertical position (as shown in Diagram A) to a horizontal position; due to design, the initial torque at this starting position is weakest, and as the angle rotates, torque gradually increases so that the lid can close slowly at last. As shown in Diagram B, when the lid starts falling from a horizontal position, since gravity-induced torque on it is zero in vertical direction while maximum at final position for dampers, it cannot fully close.

B. In examples illustrated above when using rotary dampers, please calculate required torque using following formula.

Example:
Weight of lid M:1kg
Length L from rotary shaft to edge of lid:0.5m
Load Torque:T=1×0.5×9.8÷2=2.45N•m
From above calculation we select buffer as LF-18E-25kgf.cm (25kgf.cm≈2.45Nm).

C. Please minimize gaps between rotary shaft and coupling components; if gaps exist during rotation drop speed will be affected.
4.The buffer's torque will also change according to variations in environmental temperature; its pattern shows that when environmental temperature rises, torque decreases leading to faster action time; conversely when environmental temperature drops, it raises resulting slower action time due to changes in viscosity oil's viscosity during environmental temperature variations; however once environment returns back normal temperatures so does its original value.
5.The rotation angle for LF-36 series rotary dampers is110 degrees; exceeding110 degrees may damage buffer so please install external stop mechanism accordingly based on closed position.
